Tiny House Map How does a tiny house get and connect to utilities? Through services provided by utility and power companies. However, occasionally people wish to locate their homes where these services are not provided. In these cases, their house needs to be ‘off-grid’, meaning the individual is responsible for providing their own services. Sometimes a house uses a combination of both grid and off-grid services. For instance, if grid power and water services are available, but sewer is not.

Follow this guide to properly winterize and prepare your RV for long or short term storage. It is safe for fresh water plumbing. You can also contact our Service Department to have us winterize your camper. Let’s begin by talking about how your RV water system works. From the fresh water tank, a water pump is used to push water through the RV. No pump is needed for water coming from the city hookup. The water from the water tank and city water hookup will always be cold.

To get hot water, the water must flow from your water pump into your water heater. The water is then heated and flows to your hot water fixtures such as sinks and shower. When winterizing your RV you will need to by-pass the water heater. Winterizing Instructions Read your owner’s manual for winterization methods specific to your RV.

Yet folks that are new to RVing ask me all the time what I think they will need for their rig. Well, my wife, my RVing friends and I have given this subject a lot of thought for several months now and we came up with a list of things that you really need to have as well as another list of things that would just be really nice to have. One thing that we all agree on is that we have probably forgotten something or left out an important item of some kind.

Oh well — we tried. Still, this is a good starting point and guideline for most RVers.

Equipped with sinks, toilets and showers, many RVs provide all the comforts of home. Contained in large holding tanks, RV waste water is usually emptied into a sewer drain with a flexible plastic hose.

On the one hand if you are looking for a secluded RV site, outside town and away from the noise and bustle that offers a great view, fresh air and wide open skies…La Vista is for you! We enjoyed all of the foregoing aspects of the park very much. For a small park they have a nice, clean and well maintained little common building that, for a site park, is more than adequate with 2 showers per gender, one clothes washer, one clothes dryer, and a nice recreation room.

Sites are mostly downhill, gravel, but are workable.

May 09,  · Posted By: bobandgeri on 05/08/07 am We want to migrate from using a flexble sewer hose to a permanent sewer hookup with rigid PVC pipe. Are there specific adapters made to connect the bayonet conector on the dump valve with the PVC pipe?

RV holding tank odors are caused by sewer gas known as Hydrogen Sulfide. This is the natural result of waste products as they are breaking down in both the gray and the black water holding tanks. Standard stack pipe vent caps are designed to prevent water and debris from entering the pipe. On windy days, or when the RV is in motion, they can allow, or even cause, air to be forced down the stack pipe. Odors are then forced into the RV through plumbing traps and worn seals.

Formaldehyde based deodorizers may temporarily reduce odors, but they actually stop the natural breakdown process. Neither of them will prevent holding tank pressure from forcing odors and toxic Hydrogen Sulfide into the RV living space.

Free Wifi Hookup Sites: These spacious RV spaces are available as: These are partially-shaded spaces located near all activities or fully-shaded, secluded sites near the fishing lake.

Marine-type RV commodes do not have a p-trap or a siphon pipe that blocks sewer gasses, nor do they actually flush the waste. When you open the flap valve of an RV commode, the waste evacuates from the bowl by gravity, not the siphoning action present in residential commodes.

There are sites available for short term stays, mostly back-ins and a limited number of pull-thru spots. Our pull-thru overnight site was the end spot on a row of what may have been at one time, an overflow parking lot. Not fancy by any means, but adequate for overnighting. All in all, maneuvering through the park needs to be done very carefully, especially so with bigger rigs. But the good news is that one of the friendly staffers was there to guide us into our spot and to make sure we understood which hook-ups were the ones we should use.

There’s no trees in the park so shade during hot weather is only something you can dream of. And while you’re dreaming, dream up a picnic table to replace the aluminum tables at each site. Probably OK to use during cool weather, but not hot weather. Having said all that, the park is conveniently located just off I , but far enough away you don’t hear the traffic noise. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We’d stay here again, but only if we were sure of getting a pull-thru site.

Welcome to McIntosh Lake RV Park

People at campgrounds are some of the friendliest most helpful people you will ever meet. I have seen it time and again when a camper pulls in and they are having problems with something and their next door neighbor, whom they never met, is right there to assist them. I have also observed and assisted several campers who were new to RVing and not really sure how to set their unit up when they arrive at the campground. While talking to these new Rvers it came up more than once how they wished that they had a checklist to follow to make things easier.

I compiled over 25 checklists in an attempt to cover all aspects of RVing.

It will save you from unhooking your RV and taking it to the dump station and then returning to the campsite to set up again. They are designed to hold black water or grey water. You can get them in different sizes. If you generate a lot of waste water, you will need a larger size tank. The best thing to do is find a campsite with a sewer hookup. That is not always possible, so the rolling tank is the best option. Keep a check on your waste water tank to see how full it is.

You don’t want it to get too full without emptying it. The tank is easy to operate. Take your sewer hose and hook one end up to your RV’s waste outlet. Hook the other end to the RV portable tank outlet. Make sure both connections are stable. Pull the waste water valve open slowly and dispense the contents into the roller tank.
